Abstract

Boiler is a closed vessel where the heat of combustion is flowed into water until steam is formed at a certain pressure then used to transfer heat to a process. This research was conducted to analyze the efficiency of boiler calculations at Barru Steam Power Company Operation and Maintenance Services Unit (OMU). The method used in this research is field research to Barru Steam Power Companying collecting data. The results showed that in April the fuel rate decreased to 7,528 kg/s as a result of the load received by 40Mw so that the total heat transfer rate obtained was 107,487,592.02 kj/s and in May the fuel rate increased to 8,555 kg/s. s as a result of the load received is 40 Mw so that the total heat transfer rate obtained is 221,990,658.05 kj/s. The highest percentage of boiler efficiency (performance) was obtained at 91.54% in March with a given load of 40 Mw and the heating value of the superheater of 36210080,9kj/s. The lowest percentage of boiler efficiency (performance) was 91.24% in April with a load of 40 Mw and the heating value of the superheater of 36792791.67 kj/s..
